LOMBARD, Ill. (August 14, 2026) — Two significant anniversaries called for more than one celebration.
This year, Beacon Hill senior living community in Lombard, Illinois, marked its 42nd anniversary while also celebrating the 50th anniversary of Lifespace Communities, its owner and operator. The festivities began with an elegant gala on August 5 featuring live entertainment by Jane Allyson and the Galaxies. This was followed the next week by Music Through the Decades, a five day celebration packed with music, food, games, dancing and nostalgia.
As a Life Plan Community, Beacon Hill offers a full continuum of senior living services and care on one campus, allowing residents to remain in the community as their needs change.
“Lifespace Communities’ 50th anniversary and Beacon Hill’s 42nd anniversary give us an opportunity to reflect on the legacy of service, compassion and community that has defined Beacon Hill for more than four decades,” said Elijah Heyboer, executive director. “We are grateful to the residents who make this retirement community such a vibrant place to call home and to the dedicated team members whose commitment and caring make a difference every day.”

The following week, Beacon Hill turned the celebration into a playful journey through the decades. Each day highlighted a different era, giving residents and team members plenty of opportunities to enjoy the variety and activities they love.
The 1920s and 1930s featured a mimosa toast, picnic, group exercise and The Beacon Speakeasy. The 1940s and 1950s brought a hula hoop competition, 1950s style soda fountain and resident and team member talent show.
The 1960s took a musical turn with a presentation on The Beatles followed by a performance by American English, a popular Beatles tribute band. The 1970s brought disco, a Meat Loaf and Jello cook off and a mashed potato bar.
The celebration wrapped up with the 1980s, featuring a dance workout, retro snack cart and neon glow party with DJ Ray and Max the Headspin Guy and his breakdancers.
