We want to provide an encouraging update on COVID-19 in our Beacon Hill community. As of Tuesday, May 26, two Health Center residents have been cleared of the virus, and we have had no new resident positive test results. By way of recap, we have 22 active resident cases of the virus, all of whom are being cared for in our Health Center. Most of our residents continue to be asymptomatic or are showing minor symptoms of the virus.
In addition, this week we are welcoming back a number of team members who have been cleared of the virus. As of today, there are no new team member cases of the virus and we have 11 active cases of COVID-19 among individuals who provide care and services in our Health Center. These individuals are self-isolating at home with the support of our Human Resources team.
We continue to work closely with the DuPage County Health Department and the Illinois Department of Public Health. We realize that this situation is concerning to you, and we are committed to being open and transparent while respecting the privacy of those involved. We continue to follow our infection control protocols as well as recommendations of local health agencies and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
We will continue to screen and monitor our residents, team members, and essential visitors for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. Additional information regarding COVID-19 in our community will be provided to you when available, as appropriate. To support our efforts to control the spread of the virus in our community, we ask that you continue to be vigilant in following heightened infection control guidelines. Therefore, please continue to stay in your homes, practice social distancing, and if you must venture out for essential items, follow all recommended protocols including washing your hands frequently and using hand sanitizer.
We appreciate your support and continued adherence to the protocols we have implemented to protect our residents and team members. Please contact your Beacon Hill management team with any questions or concerns.
